The Junior League of Augusta is having it’s Attic Sale event this weekend!

Attic Sale 2014 by Junior League of AugustaThe Junior League of Augusta hosts it’s Attic Sale annually the first Saturday of March.  Well March 1, 2014 is the first Saturday so it is Attic Sale time!!!

What is Attic Sale?

It is an event that serves 2 purposes for the Junior League of Augusta, Georgia. One is to provide a service for the community where people can find affordable goods for their family, homes and children.  The other purpose is as a fundraiser to provide the funds to the League which they in turn put back into the community. 

What are some of the things that the JLAugusta does with the money raised at Attic Sale? 

This League supports the community by providing Grants and Awards for education purposes such as ACE Awards or the Field Trip Fund for area Classroom teachers and Community Enabling Grants.  They also support of programs with these funds like Girls on the Run, Kids in the Kitchen, Arts Reading, etc….  You can find all the information on their Community page of their website.

When is the Event?

Friday, February 28, 2014 – Preview Party from 7:00 to 10:00 PM.  Tickets are $20.00 and are available at the door.   You get to shop first and eat dinner!!!

Saturday, March 1, 2014 – 62 Annual Attic Sale.  The doors open at 7:00 AM and will end at 2:00 PM.  This event is free to the public!

This event is held at the Augusta Exchange Club Fairgrounds in Augusta, GA.

Lady Antebellum to Perform at New Evans Town Center Park

Mark your calendar for Augusta’s own Dave Haywood & Charles Kelley of Lady Antebellum to performance at the opening of the new amphitheater in the new “Evans Town Center Park” on October 28, 2011.   Tickets are available for purchase at the Columbia County Library on Evans Town Center Blvd and will be available beginning Saturday morning at 8:00 on October 1, 2011.

Columbia County is honoring Charles Kelley, Josh Kelley and Dave Haywood by naming the pavilion after the group Lady Antebellum which was founded in part by Charles Kelley & Dave Haywood.  They are also honoring Charles’ brother, Josh Kelley who is a singer-songwriter, by naming the stage after him.

Please expect long lines and wait since both Haywood & Kelley graduated from Lakeside High School, a  local Columbia County school, which makes the group very popular here in Augusta.  Tickets are limited to only 3,100 for the event, which is expected to sell out very quickly.  Tickets are $40 each and are limited to only 4 per person.  Only cash will be accepted!

Junior League of Augusta’s 59th Attic Sale March 5th, 2011

Augusta’s Junior League members are having their annual Attic Sale this Saturday on March 5th, 2011.  

If you are a bargain hunter or you like going to yard sales – then this is the event not to be missed!  You can find anything from books to toys to furniture at this sale.  This event is free and starts at 7:00 AM until 2:00 PM.  If you would like to get a head start on your bargain hunting, then buy a Preview Party ticket from the Junior League so you can attend Friday evening from 7:00 PM – 10:00 PM.  Who knows what kind of treasure you will find!

The Attic Sale is taking place at the Augusta Exchange Club Fairgrounds at 3rd and Hale Streets in Augusta, GA.

Enjoying Date Night on the Cheap!

This morning I was reading an MSN article about 20 Dates Under 20 Bucks and I thought what is there to do on a Friday or Saturday night in and Augusta for under 20 bucks!

So after some searching around here are 5 things that I found to do for this weekend.

  1. Screen on the Green at the Columbia County Amphitheater – Twilight for only $2! on September 19, 2009 (please confirm in case of rain)
  2. Ice Skating at Augusta Ice Sports Center – Cost is $7 per adult plus $ 3 fee for skate rental.  It gets cheaper if you have a military I.D. – $5 with a current military I.D. Enjoy this activity on either Friday or Saturday night from 7:00 pm until 10:00 pm.
  3. Red Wing Rollerway offers skating from 7:30 pm – 12:00 am on the weekends.  The cost is only $8 per person and this includes skate rental.
  4. See a movie this weekend at GTC Masters 7 Cinemas for $1.99! Current showings are: A Perfect Getaway; Aliens in the Attic; Orphan; Ice Age: Dawn of the Dinosaurs; Transformers: Revenge of the Fallen; The Proposal; Up; and Blood Creek.
  5. Arts in the Heart of Augusta Festival is this weekend.  Cost is $5 in advance from any SRP Federal Credit Union or $7 at the gate. Children 10 and under are free!
