On Friday, Bank of America Corp. announced that it was going to freeze all of BoA foreclosures in all 50 states. There is currently an investigation into their practices and the process of obtaining “notarized” documents to foreclose on a property.
For some home owner’s this could be a wonderful thing because they will be able to remain in their homes a little longer. I know I really hate it when people lose their home. It just breaks my heart.
For those that are under contract to buy a foreclosed home, this isn’t the best of news. If you have a closing date scheduled, please call your real estate agent to check on the status – especially if you are purchasing a Bank of America owned property. You will also want to make sure that your time frame for due diligence and posession date is protected or that you have the right to cancel the contract. Just Please call your agent!
