New Columbia County Recycling Drop-Off Center
Recycling Drop-Off Center
The new Recycling Drop-Off Center in Columbia County, GA opened October 5th. This new center is off of Chamblin Road which is close to the new Grovetown High School. Hours of operation are: Monday, Tuesday, Thursday and Friday from 8:00 AM – 6:00 PM and Saturday from 7:00 AM – 4:00 PM.
This center will accept only:
- Clean #1 and #2 plastic items – like milk jugs, juice bottles, etc…
- Rinsed metal food cans and aluminum drink cans.
- Magazines, flossy mailings, notebook paper, construction paper and newspapers including inserts.
- Packing paper and flattened shoe, moving, shipping, cereal, snack, and electronics boxes.
- Accepted electronics include: cell phones; computers; monitors; laptops; CD/DRW/DVD drives; hard, floppy and zip drives; scanners, printers; phones (corded and cordless); pagers; pocket PC’s; cameras; servers; routers; hubs; electronic games consoles; answering machines; printer cartridges; rechargeable batteries; camcorders; stereos; DVD players; and VCR’s. They do accept TV’s but there will be a $10 fee per set – cash only.
There drop off area behind the Evans Health Department/Procurement Building in the Evans Govergaent Center will still have Bins for #1 and #2 plastic items, office blend paper, and newspapers.
H1N1 Vaccines for Columbia County This Week
H1N1 Vaccines
Columbia County Georgia will be holding H1N1 flu vaccine clinic this week. People eligible for the vaccine are pregnant women, children ages 6 months to 24 years of age, people in contact with or caregivers for children younger than 6 months of age, health care and emergency medical services staff, and people aged 25 thru 64 that have health conditions that could be at a higher risk of medical problems from influenza.
