The giving season has begun….come shop at Augusta’s premier Holiday Market event organized by the Junior League of Augusta, Georgia.  Held at the beautiful Legends Club on Washington Road, Friday, November 16 – Sunday, November 18 – this event is the CSRA’s largest premier shopping experience with over 40 boutique vendors from across the country!  

There are several special events taking place at the Augusta Holiday Market that you may enjoy:

 

  • Ladies Night Out on Friday, November 16 at 7:00 p.m. Who wouldn’t enjoy a night out with girlfriends enjoying live music, hors d’oeuvres provided by the area’s top restaurants and caterers, beverages, and exclusive shopping at the Augusta Holiday Market?  Santa’s Elves have also left Door Prizes for those who attend! Tickets are $30.00 in advance and $35.00 at the door.
  • Photos with Santa on Saturday, November 17, 11:00 a.m. – 3:00 p.m and Sunday, November 18, Noon – 2:00 p.m. Bring your little elves for a visit with the fat man in his workshop, beautifully decorated by Cudos!  The $15 fee includes a photo session with Kevin Jiminez Photography, picture CD, activities, and a special treat!
  • Raffle tickets are being sold 1 for $10.00 or 3 for $20. The drawing will be held Sunday at 4:00 p.m., but you need not be present to win. And what wonderful prizes our Elves have for us!

Junior League of Augusta Holiday Market will be open:

  • November 16th from 12:00 to 6:00 p.m., 
  • November 17th from  10:00 a.m. – 6:00 p.m.
  • November 18th from 12:00 Noon to 5:00 p.m.

Greater Augusta Area Events for October 1st & 2nd 2010

With the first feeling of fall in the air, this weekend looks to be a good time to go out and enjoy some activities in the Augusta area.  Here are a few things that might interest you:

First Friday Car Show at the Augusta Commons

Time: 6:00 PM – 9:15 PM

Admission: Free

Swamp Saturday at Phinizy Swamp Nature Park

Time: 9:30 AM

Admission: Free

Trained volunteers lead a 2.5 mile , 1.5 hour hikes through the Nature Park.  Great time to take some photos of the wetlands and scenic outlooks.

Light the Night Walk at the Augusta Commons

Time: 6:00 PM until

Admission: Free

This is the annual fundraising event for The Leukemia and Lymphoma Society to help patients and their families suffering from leukemia, lymphoma, Hodgkin’s disease and myeloma and to find a cure.

Oliver Hardy Festival in Harlem, GA

Time: 9:00 AM until

Admission: Free

This is the annual event in Harlem, GA.  Activites include: Children’s Parade, Parade, Arts & Crafts, Bands, Entertaigaent, BBQ Dinner and more!

The Power of Social Media

I first saw this video in a darkened room in Austin Texas while I attend Mega Agent Camp. This was part of the discussion during the Tech Camp portion of the conference. There were over 4,000 in attendance at the Tech Camp to my amazement!  This video gave me chills that day and it still does.  See for yourself…then ask “Where will we be in 5 years?”

Enjoying Date Night on the Cheap!

This morning I was reading an MSN article about 20 Dates Under 20 Bucks and I thought what is there to do on a Friday or Saturday night in and Augusta for under 20 bucks! So after some searching around here are 5 things that I found to do for this weekend.

1. Screen on the Greenat the Columbia County Amphitheater – Twilight for only $2! on September 19, 2009 (please confirm in case of rain)

2. Ice Skating at Augusta Ice Sports Center - Cost is $7 per adult plus $ 3 fee for skate rental.  It gets cheaper if you have a military I.D. – $5 with a current military I.D. Enjoy this activity on either Friday or Saturday night from 7:00 pm until 10:00 pm.

3. Red Wing Rollerway offers skating from 7:30 pm – 12:00 am on the weekends.  The cost is only $8 per person and this includes skate rental.

4. See a movie this weekend at GTC Masters 7 Cinemas for $1.99! Current showings are: A Perfect Getaway; Aliens in the Attic; Orphan; Ice Age: Dawn of the Dinosaurs; Transformers: Revenge of the Fallen; The Proposal; Up; and Blood Creek.

5. Arts in the Heart of Augusta Festival is this weekend.  Cost is $5 in advance from any SRP Federal Credit Union or $7 at the gate. Children 10 and under are free!
